Happy Mouth, Happy Body!

Did you know that problems with your mouth can affect other parts of your body as well?
A balanced diet, proper sleep and exercise are things that you should be maintaining on a daily basis, but keeping up with the health of your mouth is very important too!

Recent research suggests that there may be a link between gum disease and other health problems. Bacteria in your mouth can be associated with many issues such as heart disease, blockages in your arteries and stroke. It is suspected that bacteria and inflammation play a role in "systemic" problems, meaning it can affect the body as a whole.

Now there are ways to prevent this issue from happening.

  • Keeping up with your oral health by brushing and flossing can prevent periodontal disease.
  • Having regular professional cleanings and examinations are necessary to prevent gum disease. Regular cleanings can ensure that your mouth is on the right track and any issues that need to be taken care of can be planned for the future.
  • Eating a balanced diet and limiting snacking.
